A good old fashioned is just good for the soul. I like to play with old fashioned cocktails because it gives me a chance to try different bourbons and add in other flavors to the mix. I love oranges so when I found this blood orange liqueur online I knew I had to have it. It's a perfect flavorful choice for summer cocktails. I totally foresee me using this liqueur in a lot of different ways in the future and it definitely is a mainstay on my bar.
Ingredients
2 oz bourbon
1 oz blood orange liqueur
Three dashes of angostura bitters
One sugar cube
Garnish: orange slices and maraschino cherries
Recipe: in an old fashioned glass, muddle bitters and sugar cube. Place orange slices and large ice cube. In a mixing glass, pour bourbon and blood orange liqueur. Stir and then pour from mixing glass into old fashioned glass.
