Happy #ThirstyThursday everyone! This week I'm all about this big watermelon I got over the weekend and then proceeded to eat half and use the rest for cocktails. To start, I created a watermelon jalepeno margarita that is perfectly refreshing and spicy. This margarita was something that just came to me and made me so excited to try it out.
Sweet and Spicy
Margarita
Ingredients
2 oz Watermelon
2 oz Tequila
1 oz Grand Marnier
1 oz Lime Juice
Four slices of Jalapeño (or less depending on your spice level and the spiciness of the jalapeño)
1/2 oz Simple Syrup
Garnish: Salt Rim and Pickled Watermelon Rind
Recipe: In a cocktail shaker, muddle the jalepeno slices and the simple syrup. Add ice then the rest of the ingredients. Give it a nice shake and pour into a chilled margarita glass with ice. This is a perfect summer margarita. The refreshing watermelon balances out the spiciness of the jalepeno. Perfect for a poolside party or a barbecue. I always add the salt rim because it matches my relationship with tequila and brings me to the beach. I pickled the watermelon with a quick pickle which makes the watermelon edible and a fun texture play with your cocktail.
